Forever Moving Forward

Some of you may or may not be aware that there has been a change in the appearance of The Stiff Wires, and we just recently did two shows with our new lead guitar player 19 year old Bryce Cody. It has been a few short weeks since he joined and has fit right in.

Bryce is a London, Ontario resident and has been performing in the local scene for several years now in such bands as No Strings Attached and more notably Bring Down Whitey. Bryce also plays several instruments and adds a real new intense dynamic to the band.

After shows in Guelph and The Legendary Horseshoe in Toronto it became clear to us as a band that Bryce wasn't just going to fill in as previously thought, but he would be a valued member to the band in replacing the recently departed Jamie Barber on lead guitar.

As a band still building and refining our sound and music there comes times when changes become necessary to ensure the future of the band and its potential success. This is one of those times. Although it's sad to lose our best friend and one of the last 3 founding members of The Stiff Wires, it was a move that needed to happen sooner rather than later to ensure the momentum of The Stiff Wires in a forward, and upward direction. A statement on Jamie's departure will be released shortly, as there is still some business to be finalized as it relates to Jamie.

In other Stiff Wires news we have just finished our first session at Beach Road Studios in the Lake Huron region of Ontario, with the genius Siegfried Meier who has worked with notables such as Kittie, Baptized In Blood, Holly McNarland and many more. Yes The Stiff Wires are serious about making our first official release and every one after top notch from the get go. We ain't fuckin around!

In relation to this news we are also looking at increasing the it from an EP to something more of a full length record. Fact is we have the songs required to do so, and it is looking more and more like we will, provided it doesn't extend the release date too much.

Finally we have been getting a lot of reviews on our performances as of late. One of the blog sites doing this is Music She Blogged and we have included the links to these reviews in this blog post.

Hope you enjoy them and keep an eye out for our video interview with Sarah of Music She Blogged.

  1. Jamie was the last founding member of Societal Hemorrage, turned Stiff Wires.

  2. True cometest! Two totally different bands though and when you talk The Stiff Wires Dan and Jesse are also founding members. We will never forget Jamie or his contribution to our history, but The Stiff Wires are a different band and deserve to recognized as such.
