Forever Moving Forward

Some of you may or may not be aware that there has been a change in the appearance of The Stiff Wires, and we just recently did two shows with our new lead guitar player 19 year old Bryce Cody. It has been a few short weeks since he joined and has fit right in.

Bryce is a London, Ontario resident and has been performing in the local scene for several years now in such bands as No Strings Attached and more notably Bring Down Whitey. Bryce also plays several instruments and adds a real new intense dynamic to the band.

After shows in Guelph and The Legendary Horseshoe in Toronto it became clear to us as a band that Bryce wasn't just going to fill in as previously thought, but he would be a valued member to the band in replacing the recently departed Jamie Barber on lead guitar.

As a band still building and refining our sound and music there comes times when changes become necessary to ensure the future of the band and its potential success. This is one of those times. Although it's sad to lose our best friend and one of the last 3 founding members of The Stiff Wires, it was a move that needed to happen sooner rather than later to ensure the momentum of The Stiff Wires in a forward, and upward direction. A statement on Jamie's departure will be released shortly, as there is still some business to be finalized as it relates to Jamie.

BIG NEWS!!!

So we have some big news! Well as far as we are concerned it's huge news. We know that some of you out there may have thought we have been blowing smoke about looking for a studio and taking our time doing it, because we really didn't have any real plans to find one. Well actually we really needed to educate ourselves on what our needs really were, and then we needed to meet with some studios and engineers that had what we were looking for technology wise. With that in mind we are proud to announce that we will be doing our first recordings for our first official release with Siegfried Meier at Beach Road Studios near Goderich, Ontario on the shores of Lake Huron.

Mr. Meier has also agreed to help us produce our record and we are very excited about this! Mr. Meier brings a ton of skill and experience to the table having done records for bands like Kittie, Baptized in Blood, Thine Eyes Bleed, and good friends of ours Street Core to name a few, and that's just a few! With his background this gives us great confidence as we embark on this journey to put out the best we can for all of so patient fans that have waited far too long for us to release something.

We think though its better you wait and get good stuff than just have us release a bunch of merch table demos with no real work and effort going into them. Oh we are not above doing that either, but not on every single recording. It took us a lot of time and a few meetings but we think we have found our home and Mr. Meier really seems to get us and what we want to do, so we're happy with our decision and now we are chomping at the bit for March 3rd so we can hit the studio and get to work on what we hope you have all been waiting for; for some time now.

On another note and somewhat related topic we have come to realize that 2010 is going to be very busy for us. With this in mind we have come to the realisation that we are not going to be making a return trip to our hometown London, Ontario this September as planned, and it looks like we might not make it back until 2011 as we have a very busy year ahead. This saddens us as we have a few very loyal and dedicated fans in London who have been with us from the beginning and before we were even The Stiff Wires. However all is not lost!

The Creepshow is coming and we are going to play in support for them. Details coming soon!

Keep your eyes open for an announcment of our planned Canada wide tour hopfully starting in May.
